No Excuses

Apparently Broken Promise is still in denial of having a poor lapse in judgement years ago. I'm so beyond caring about the past but if you want to bring it up then of course I'm going to turn into a raging hamster with rabies with an uncontrollable twitch. I understand people could suffer from memory loss from heavily bodily trauma but I do not think it should be used to justify your past actions by claiming that's not how you remember things happening. First of all, if you're going to state that your memory is messed up because of trauma then don't try to tell me that your version of a memory is more accurate than mine. Second, if I'm the one raging about this bit of memory then obviously I would remember the event quite well. Third, you're an idiot. In other news, I've just been really busy with work. It's funny because I was laid off from my other job but a week prior, I was offered a job so things just happened to worked its way out on its own and for the better. I was tired of my old job because my boss was knowledgeable in the field but he just never really spent the time to teach me much. He was always busy teaching his freshly imported wife who's half his age the ropes instead. Also, the pay was crap. So I was happy to leave my old job without having to quit and join up with a relative. I'm already learning and doing more than I did at my old place and I even already got an increase in pay. I just couldn't believe how my path was so easily chosen and laid out for me. Needless to say, it was perfect timing. Only downside is that I have to work on Saturdays too so that does cut into my boarding time. My brothers, cousin and I went boarding for the first time at Big Bear this season because Thrive Snowboard was having a demo event so we were able to get lift tickets for half price. The only downside was that there was no fresh pow because it's been hot for awhile so the condition was nothing but ice. I ended up with some bruised knees because I forgot to wear knee pads and Lan ended up with a huge bruise on his elbow. Lan and I finally got to try out our new boards, which were awesome by the way. Although he already damaged his board because he ran into Raymond, Thrive community member, on our first ride down at the lift. Raymond's new Thrive board also got damaged because of that too. I didn't get to hang out much with the Thrive guys but they all easily knew who I was, damn it~

Smith Scope Pro Goggles & Oakley Fasten Pants

Out with the old and in with the new!  My little bro updated his goggles to the Smith Scope Pro goggle and personally I felt they could of put in more effort on the design of it because it looks just like any other regular goggle.  My peeve is that with its simplistic look, it is hard to tell by a glance which is the cheap pair of Smith versus the quality pair of Smith.  I spotted an awesome deal from steepforcheap.com for a pair of Oakley Fasten pants and Seattle was kind enough to buy it for me!  What a loyal dog huh?  The pants had a pretty high breathability and waterproofing rating so that's always a plus.  Plus it is well padded and insulated so it is certainly worth the buck. Oakley does make some pretty stylish pants that isn't too much like Nomis. My peeve is the length of the pants is a bit long but then again it is for women and I wear youth sizes so go figure.    This also reminds me, I have not posted the Big Bear trip!

Cozy Forest

I just booked a cabin out in Big Bear for V Day weekend, vato loco weekend if you know what I mean homes.  The cabin is 1200 square feet with 2 bedroom and 1 bath so it is a pretty decent size.  There is 2 parking spaces and the garage was converted into a game room but that's fine because from the looks of it, we can probably go off road and park on the front lawn.  The game room includes a foosball table, dart, mini basketball, and an indoor jacuzzi.  The cabin pretty much has everything except for a pool table but we can live without it.  By far, this is a better deal than the cabin we got last year which only had 1 bedroom, no games, and only 1 parking space for 500 bucks total.  Whereas, this cabin is for 800 bucks total so it's a pretty good deal if I must say so myself.

Snow Valley Resort

I went with my siblings to try out what the fuss was about pertaining to Snow Valley because my oldest brother and his friends insist that their favorite place to board is officially Snow Valley.  I was a bit skeptical because it is not a popular resort so I was thinking it was going to be another Mt High.  When we were almost there, there was a check point and even though our car had 4WD, they still made us turn around which was ridiculous because the condition wasn't even that bad!  Luckily for us, Vu lived nearby in Highland so we just went to his house and picked up his chains.  The worst part is that when we got back to the check point, the security check ended!  So that was a big waste of time.  Once we got to the resort, the parking lot was SO empty!  We geared up and headed on up.  It had snowed the night before but they still had massive snow machines every 10 ft apart running constantly and their man made snow was very good quality snow.  I was surprised at how long the trails were because Mt High's trails are short compared to Snow Valley's.  The angle of the slopes are much better than at Mt High even the easy trails because it was angled enough to still continue moving since no one wants to be stuck in the valley of death.  We were all testing out our new gears and I would of liked it more if my bindings were broken in more because the straps were so stiff that it was hurting my ankles so badly that it left a bruising.  My older brother and I were having problems getting off the lift with our new rocker boards because our bases are sintered so it was very slick and with its rocker shape there was less traction to slow down versus our extruded camber boards.  Unfortunately for my older brother, while getting off to do his 2nd run, his board slipped underneath him so he fell down in a weird manner and dislocated his shoulder so that ended his day.  Although it's not too bad because the lift tickers were dirt cheap with the 4 pack deal for 99 bucks.  Snow Valley was pretty sweet and pretty empty so you can have the whole place to yourself!

My Crazy Drunken Family

Last Sunday we had to go home early from camping so I ended up booking a day extra for nothing.  We had to disembark from Big Bear because our cousin was having a going away party.  She's going to Portland for medical school so of course we had to party one last time for her crazy ass.  Everyone was as loud and drunk as ever!  Towards the end of the night, my buff cousin and my cousin's buff boyfriend had a drunken arm wrestling match and the crowd went wild!  My cousin lost so that's when the adults wanted in on the action too and challenged my cousin's boyfriend.  Of course he didn't want to because they're old but one uncle was persistent with his mullet ass so my cousin told her boyfriend to just beat him and embarrass his ass so he did over and over even though the mullet was cheating.  Then a few cousin and uncles joined in with pinky arm wrestling.  The aunts were all yelling to stop already and quiet down because the neighbors are trying to sleep.  One aunt was like hurry everybody go home before the popo comes!

The Urge To Snowboard

So last weekend my siblings and pose spent the weekend at Big Bear, but unfortunately for us the real snow fall didn't occur until that night we left.  Holy moly and now there is butt loads of fresh snow due to the rain storm!  Now everyone is tempted to go again this weekend!  I'm tempted to go again but my arm is still bruised from getting hit by one of the pose's board.  *Shakes fist*  It's always fun to board in fresh snow because you can go crazy and fly like superman and still come out perfectly fine.
