Applying Creativity

If you can apply something totally unrelated to the question asked then wouldn't it still show that you understand the question and you simply took the question to a whole new level of understanding by applying it to something else?  I think it is genius and that teachers should acknowledge the brilliance that stands before them and give credit to the student.  I think it is purely out of spite and jealousy because dude couldn't think of it first.  It is sad when this kind of brilliance is not understood.  Creativity is the fruits of life much like your mama's bosoms.
