Girl's Generation Beat Justin Bieber, One Direction, Lady Gaga

The first ever YouTube Music Award was hosted by YouTube, which the winners were determined by the fans by the power of likes and sharing on YouTube. The video of the year award went to Korea's national favorite, Girl's Generation, thus upsetting the American horde of Beliebers, Directioners, and Monsters. It's a bit sad at how ignorant Americans are to different cultures by calling others a nobody just because they don't know who they are. Even other nations know who American artists are and not only just the most popular ones either and yet Americans have no clue who is big outside of their nation. But putting everything aside, Bieber has about 40 million followers on Twitter which is almost the entire population of South Korea of 50 million people so you can see how much KPop is relevant to the rest of the world outside of Korea. Are KPop fans as crazy as Bieliber fans? Absolutely and in some cases even worse such as for EXO, but their fans are dedicated to their idols as shown by their landslide victory over America's big 3. Even if they had combined the big 3's votes, their total still would not have beaten Girl's Generation so kudos to Psy and Girl's Generation for representing the outside world. As for the award show, it was a disappointment and not well planned out so maybe they can learn from their mistake and make a better show next year.

Esperanza Spalding Pwns Justin Bieber

Personally, I don't see what the big deal is because first of all, the award was for Best NEW Artist, hence the emphasis on the word new.  Bieber isn't exactly a new artist because he has been mainstream for a couple of years now.  Yes, Spalding isn't exactly known mainstream but she has been making waves in the underground music of jazz, so technically she is a new artist in the public's eye.  Although it's also not a surprise that Bieber didn't win because unlike other music award shows, the Grammy recognizes real talent and the art of music rather than a popularity contest.  Spalding may not be playing my kind of music but she certainly does know the art of music.  If you take away all the prepubescent kids which makes up practically all of Bieber's fanbase then he would certainly never have won any awards that requires voting.   I didn't watch the Grammy Awards but I saw a clip of it and I agree with Carson Daly, Usher cannot sing live anymore and neither can Bieber and Jaden was more like a mumble.  It felt like watching a kid's recital and having to pretend to like the performance because you don't want to be the jerk that boos someone's kid.

Worth 65 million and cannot afford a fitted Gucci suit or remember to zip his fly!

Deception

It is amazing at how much businesses make off from stealing products made by different companies and marking them off as their own company's product.  Homemade?  Totally not, more like from a instant powder packaging from a more renown company. Nothing is homemade or authentic because everything nowadays is so commercialized just to make a good turn around profit.  Yet, as consumers we would still buy the said products even though we know we are totally getting hosed because it is either out of convenience or we are just that stupid.

Teabags are a rip off anyways.  Go wholesale!

In other news, I am currently stuck in Santa Ana at my little sister's music and dance class but good thing I have my netbook to keep me entertained. We ate dim sum because her zither teacher wasn't at her house so we left to eat.  I really don't know how my oldest brother does this every Saturday with her because this is so boring!  Sure, we bring our laptop to entertain ourselves but this is still boring.  Boring~

Watch Justin Bieber get hit in the head with a water bottle haha!

Generation Me

I just read an article pertaining to the lack of empathy in college students nowadays versus 20 or 30 years prior.  The study claims that this generation also known as Generation Me is really all about me that the emotions of others are irrelevant because my life is about me, not you.  They say this disassociation with others is due to the numbness resulting from violent media as well as online social networking, which may be true because cyber bulling is a big fad online where you don't really have any real life repercussions since what are the chances of people finding out where you live to kick your ass so you can hide behind your computer monitor and do things that you couldn't really do in real life.  Sure, people nowadays are selfish but when has man never been selfish?  It's just human nature.

Actionman in action!

In other news, girls are so double standard.  They can hate Miley Cyrus like crazy and call her a talentless skank because she's trying to grow up so fast, although the reason for their hate is because she's a girl their age with the fame and privileges they never had.  Whereas, they're all lovely dovey when it comes to Justin Bieber although he's pretty much doing the same things she's doing except she has her parents' blessings but that's probably because since she grew up in the spot light since she was born, she had to grow up fast and her parents thought her well.  Whereas Bieber is new to fame and his parents can no longer control him because he does whatever he wants to do regardless of what his parents say.  The media was all over Cyrus when she got a tattoo with her parents' permission although she is near adulthood but I heard recently Bieber who is way younger got a tattoo too but the media wasn't all negative about that nor did it even care.   Although I think it's pretty lame that he got a little bird tattoo which is lame and is even more lame because he got it on his hip, how gay can he be?  Considering his parents are regular people and still want to discipline him but they can't anymore because he holds the power, I'm sure they said f no on the tattoo but he probably said f you and you can't stop him.  In terms of music, I always thought it was great for Cyrus to pull away from Disney music because her best selling music are her own music and people have to remember she's no longer a kid.  In other news, Greyson Chance came back on the Ellen show where he was the recipient of $10,000 from whatever program Ellen was doing and Yamaha saw his video at home playing on his old piano so they decided to give him a brand new piano to play on and lastly the story of Greyson inspired Ellen to start her own record label and Greyson is her first signing artist so best of luck to them.
