I never understood the purpose of giving out giftcards or even Visa giftcards when they are not efficient at all. They cost the person buying it extra money for loading fees and activation fees and it costs the person receiving it as well because if you don't use up the funds then you're still losing money to monthly fees and when you do use your giftcard you're still losing money to other fees and whether you use your card or not the card expires in either 6 months or 12 months. For instance, for a $25 giftcard it would cost the buyer around $30 and if the person receiving the giftcard decides to use the whole balance then after fees and such they're only going to end up with only about $20 credit. Sure, a shiny plastic card may look nice but if you receive a giftcard rather than a Visa giftcard then you're pretty much stuck buying at only one place. All in all, people should stick to hard cold cash.
Never trust cute things
