Hooked On Phonics

I wonder if anyone actually tried Hooked On Phonics and whether or not the program worked.  Sure, everyone laughed about the idea but I'm sure the creator made millions off the product.  I mean look at the Snuggie blanket, it's retarded and cheap quality as hell but hey the creator is filthy rich now.  Why?  Because people actually buy info commercial crap.  If you have an idea that may be stupid but if you believe in the product then sure go for it because people might be laughing at you now but if your idea becomes a success then you'll be the one laughing in the end.
