It's sad to see how people take things for granted and don't realize it until it's too late. My friend's parents are hella old and being the only daughter out of 3, she hardly ever sees her parents and refuses to move back home just so that she isn't bothered after she gets home from work. It's understandable to be independent and living on your own but just because you don't live with your parents anymore it doesn't mean you should avoid them because they're not going to live much longer considering they're in retirement age and still worrying about their kids. Although it's not as bad as someone who lives with their parents and still doesn't see their parents. Family ties are not as strong as they want to believe it to be because if ties were strong then why is no one fighting over the guardianship of the aging parents? No one is saying their parents should live with them but instead everyone wants to move away from the parents so they can die a lonely death. It's situations like this is when you question why did you ever have kids for because they will eventually take you for granted and leave you to die all by yourself.
